With 30 years of experience as a chocolatier under his belt, Richard Uldry welcomes you into his world to share his passion. What does he like most about being a chocolatier? The creativity the job offers, the opportunity to discover new products and the relationships he enjoys with the regional producers from whom he sources his ingredients.
In fact, in buying chocolate and other products from the Chocolaterie de Gruyères, you can be sure that they are artisanal products made from regional ingredients. The company tries, wherever possible, to source its cacao, hazelnuts and almonds
from niche markets.
The Chocolaterie de Gruyères has several specialities. In the chocolate range, its flagship product is “bean to bar” dark and milk chocolate. “Bean to bar” means the company controls every step of the chocolate making process, from A to Z. Because the production process is complex and requires the use of a number of machines, it is not that common in Switzerland.
The range also includes delicious pralines and other chocolates made with regional products, such as double cream, milk from Fribourg, cherries from Cheseaux-Noréaz and Swiss kirsch.
We also offer chocolate beer and a whole range of salted chocolate products. In addition, starting this summer, you’ll be able to sample a chocolate vinegar.
