In light of the current situation, both of our chocolate shops will be closed until 19 April 2020.
Thank you for your understanding.
Traditional products and production methods
We work with chocolate to showcase its beauty in different forms. That’s why, in our shops, you’ll find “bean to bar” chocolate, chocolate beer and even chocolate vinegar.
Our sales outlets
We have two shops – one in the centre of the village of Gruyères and the other in the village of Pringy, not far from the train station.

Our little extras
From 2021, in addition to our various introductory workshops, we’ll be offering guided tours of our chocolate factory, where we’ll explain how our products are made.
We work with
With 30 years of experience as a chocolatier under his belt, Richard Uldry welcomes you into his world to share his passion. What does he like most about being a chocolatier? The creativity the job offers, the opportunity to discover new products and the relationships he enjoys with the regional producers from whom he sources his ingredients.
In fact, in buying chocolate and other products from the Chocolaterie de Gruyères, you can be sure that they are artisanal products made from regional ingredients. The company tries, wherever possible, to source its cacao, hazelnuts and almonds
from niche markets.
The Chocolaterie de Gruyères has several specialities. In the chocolate range, its flagship product is “bean to bar” dark and milk chocolate. “Bean to bar” means the company controls every step of the chocolate making process, from A to Z. Because the production process is complex and requires the use of a number of machines, it is not that common in Switzerland.
The range also includes delicious pralines and other chocolates made with regional products, such as double cream, milk from Fribourg, cherries from Cheseaux-Noréaz and Swiss kirsch.
We also offer chocolate beer and a whole range of salted chocolate products. In addition, starting this summer, you’ll be able to sample a chocolate vinegar.
Introductory workshops for kids and grown-ups
Would you like to organise an introductory workshop to chocolate, a workshop on making chocolate bunnies or chocolate lollipops, or even a wine and chocolate tasting? The Chocolaterie de Gruyères would be delighted to welcome you to its premises, where it will organise the workshop of your choice for you and your group (booking required).
Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information.
